THE LION OF JUDAH HAS OVERCOME

THE LION OF JUDAH HAS OVERCOME

Revelation 5:1-5, 8-10 NASB

I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a book written inside and on the back, sealed up with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the book and to break its seals?”  And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the book or to look into it. Then I began to weep greatly because no one was found worthy to open the book or to look into it;  and one of the elders said to me, “Stop weeping;

BEHOLD, THE LION THAT IS FROM THE TRIBE OF JUDAH, THE ROOT OF DAVID, HAS OVERCOME

so as to open the book and its seven seals.” When He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. “You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.”

“Warring and winning are born of worship and waiting.” –Freda Lindsay

Introduction:

From Genesis to Revelation we are made aware of a warfare that is occurring in realms seen and unseen.  We have the vast advantage in this epic conflict of knowing the end from the beginning.  “Behold, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah has overcome!”-Rev. 5:5.  Ephesians 6:12 TPT, Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings, but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms. For they are a powerful class of demon-gods and evil spirits that hold this dark world in bondage.  This conflict and clash of kingdoms has been entrusted to our dominion delegated to us by our Conquering-King—the Greater One who is in us!  Pastor Tony Evans wrote, Everything that is physical and visible is controlled by something that is spiritual and invisible.  The war is real!  The only thing to be determined is how we will fight the good fight and carry out the win?

The prophet Elisha prayed for a revelation to his servant that have his eyes opened to the myriads of angelic chariots surrounding the enemies of God around them.  Gideon’s 300 witnessed an invisible ambush on the enemies’ camp; King Jehoshaphat sent the singers and musicians in advance of God’s army as God laid siege to the enemies which stood in resistance to God’s promised land; as Paul and Silas sang hymns to the Lord in prison God sent a great earthquake and the walls that held them fell down; as Joshua declared the praises of Yah Veh (I Am) the walls of Jericho fell.  Not one of these events are rational or relative to the laws of physics and human possibility.  They are supernatural and only accessible by faith and continued obedience to the revealed will and word of God.  Another occurrence of worship and warfare is when God’s children were commanded to route, uproot, and rid the promised land of enemy squatters and refuse compromise with their idols and false gods.  You shall make no league or alliances with the inhabitants of the land; you shall tear down their altars…and drive them out…–Judges 2:2   It is in this context the children of God went into the house of God to inquire of the Lord, Which of us shall go up first to battle?…The Lord said, “Send Judah first,” (Judges 20:18).  This has always been the case.  Judah means praise!  When we send praise first God sends the Lion of Judah to scatter our enemies and secure the strongtower of His name in our advances to possess the promises of God with every place our foot shall tread.

Today, as we minister to the Lord in the priest’s office, we follow the example of King Hezekiah: In the warfare of worship he simultaneously enthroned the King of Kings while dethroning the devil god of this world.  Hezekiah said, We trust in the Lord our God; is it not he, whose high places and whose altars, Hezekiah has taken away, and said to Judah and to Jerusalem, You shall worship before this altar? –Is. 36:7  Here is where we weaponize praiseLet the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.  Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare His praise…then the Lord shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war; He shall cry, yes, HE SHALL ROAR: HE SHALL PREVAIL AGAINST HIS ENEMIES. –Is. 42:11-13

As a royal priesthood called to show forth the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light, we are to Enthrone, Exalt, and Enlarge the Lord our God as we eradicate His enemies by smashing idols and destroying altars of vain devotion.  The repositioning of our praise sets us before the throne of God to worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness while demoralizing our enemies denying their intentions of enthroning our compromises.  This is the generation prophesied by the Psalmist:  That the generation to come might know them, even the children which shall be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: THAT THEY MIGHT SET THEIR HOPE IN GOD.  This shall be written of the generation to come; and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.  (Ps. 78:5-7; 102:18)

What we glean from the great cloud of witnesses before us is: The praise that costs the most is the praise that counts the most!  David would not offer anything which cost him nothing.  The woman with her alabaster box spent her best on her revelation of His worth.  Of these the Bible says: I will make you a name and a praise to the people of the earth. Zeph. 3:20

Today we will gravitate between worship and intercession as we draw from the arsenal of warring and winning in worlds seen and unseen.  We have read the end of the Book.  We Win!  The Lion of Judah has triumphed!  As we send praise first Deut. 33:7 says, This is the blessing of Judah!  Let us sell out in worship and spend ourselves in praise and pour out our hearts before Him at Four Altars of Sacrifice:

  1. PRAISE THAT ENTHRONES JUDAH’S GLORY
  2. PRAISE THAT EXALTS JUDAH’S NAME
  3. PRAISE THAT ERADICATES JUDAH’S ENEMIES
  4. PRAISE THAT ENLARGES JUDAH’S KINGDOM

As we focus our intentions on the Throne of God He is magnified and glorified and the enemy is minimized and demoralized.  To execute the judgement written: this honor has all the saints. –Ps. 149:9  This is our honor and this is the blessing of Judah in us!

  1. PRAISE THAT ENTHRONES JUDAH’S GLORY

Psalm 22:3 NIV

Yet YOU ARE ENTHRONED AS THE HOLY ONE;
    YOU ARE THE PRAISE OF ISRAEL.

General Direction: That we enthrone the Lord on our praises and dethrone the devil and his work as those called to minister to God’s throne in the office of a royal priesthood; we will show forth his praises that the knowledge of his glory cover the earth as the water covers the sea.

Prayer Points:

  • Today we stretch the canopy of our praise, lengthen the cords of our worship, and strengthen the stakes of thanksgiving to enlarge our throne of praise to You for You to inhabit. Because we have obtained gladness and joy in You, our sorrows and mourning will flee away, and today we come with singing into Your presence, heaping our praise on You, lavishing You with our love as living sacrifices, and rejoicing before You.
  • We proclaim Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven and declare that the Lion of the Tribe of Judah is King of the heavens and earth.
  • Today, we enlarge You in our vision and magnify Your name and kingdom beyond every enemy, obstacle, opposition, and impossibility.
  • Since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken we offer You sacrifice of awe and reverence and set our hearts on fire with passion to burn as a incense of worship before Your presence—we set our hope on You as the God of all love.
  • To proclaim Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory.
  • The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our God and His Christ and we shall reign with Him as kings and Priests to our God.
