R3 Alliance Prayer, CALLING FOR JUSTICE and TRUTH, Wednesday, August 15, 2018

The Righteous Judge Who Listens for the Call of Justice and Truth

Isaiah 59:1-2, 4, 11, 15-16 NIV

Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear dull to hear.  But your iniquities have separated you from God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.  NO ONE CALLS FOR JUSTICE: no one pleads his case with integrity.  So JUSTICE IS DRIVEN BACK, AND RIGHTEOUSNESS STANDS AT A DISTANCE; TRUTH HAS STUMBLED IN THE STREETS, HONESTY CANNOT ENTER.  TRUTH IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND, and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey.  The LORD LOOKED and was displeased THAT THERE WAS NO JUSTICEHe saw that there was no one…To INTERCEDE;

Psalm 37:27-28 NASB

Depart from evil and do good, So you will abide forever. FOR THE LORD LOVES JUSTICE,
And does not forsake His godly ones; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked will be cut off.

Luke 18:6-8 NKJV

Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect

who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?  I tell you that He will avenge them speedily.

Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

The Bible says that the LORD LOVES JUSTICE (Ps. 37:27) and that holiness is the foundation of His throne (Ps.47:8) and righteousness is the scepter of His throne (Ps. 45:6).  The seraphim do not fly over God’s throne crying “love, love, love” but “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of Hosts.” (Is. 6:2-3)  Righteousness and holiness are core components of the character and nature of God.  Everything He does emanates from these attributes. Two things are imminent for this earth and all who dwell on it.  The first is death the other is judgment.  It is appointed to man once to die, after that the judgment (Heb. 9:27) Jesus conquered death for us at the cross and by becoming sin He transferred His righteousness to those who believe into His finished work.  Ours is not a judgment of salvation after death.  Ours is a passing over death to life and giving an account of how we lived the new life in Christ.  As for the righteous, the Scripture says, For the eyes of the LORD are over the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the LORD is against them that do evil (1 Pet. 3:12 KJV).

Throughout the holy pages of Scriptures and the chapters of history God has remained the Righteous Judge of all the earth (2 Tim. 4:8).  All things in heaven and earth are racing towards the blinding light of God’s eyes and the white-hot fires of His holy judgment.  For the wicked, it will be the second death.  For the righteous it will be the refining fire between reward or regret, the greatness of gain eternal or the suffer of loss everlasting.

From the foundation of the world judgment and righteousness, mercy and truth have been in-play as the kingdom of heaven invades the earth.  Jesus was the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world.  God comprehended man’s fall and calculated the cost of redeeming that which was lost.   The most expensive commodity in the universe is sin and the most priceless entity is the blood of the Lamb of God.  God acted within Himself to be the just and justifier of him who believes in Jesus (Rom. 3:26).  Likewise, the Godhead choose to set His love on His beloved from the beginning to settle them in His love making them whole and holy in love’s perfection.

As those in covenant with God there is a responsibility and accountability to be co-heirs and co-laborers with him in all things.  God questioned: Shall I hide from Abraham the things which I plan to do?  God was contemplating judgment on the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.  However, He would allow Himself to be influenced by Abraham’s pleading.  Of Abraham, God said, For I know him, that he will command his children and household….he shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment: God would not be without two or three witnesses as He weighed the two cities in the balance (V. 21) I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it (the outcry of wickedness and the call of their very grievous sins) which has come to Me.   Abraham appealed to God’s righteousness as he interceded: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? (V. 25).  Abraham interceded down to twenty salvageable souls and thus was God’s judgment.

The Righteous Judge is seated on the throne of His holiness with the scepter of righteousness in His hand.  He is listening for the call of justice in the earth.  He is looking for truth to be found where people live and move and have their being.  James 2:13 NIV says, Mercy triumphs over judgment; Micah 7:18, God delights to show mercy.  Even now the eyes of the LORD are looking for intercessors and the ears of the LORD are listening for intercession.  The LORD looked and was displeased that there was no justice.  He saw that there was no one to intercede. (Is. 59:16).  I sought for a man among them who would stand in the gap and make up the hedge and intercede before Me on behalf of the land, that I would not have to destroy it.  But I found none. (Ezk. 22:30)

There is a point when judgment becomes an act of mercy.  Like when a tumor becomes terminal and must be removed, or a murderer unrepentant, or a religious fanatic who, in self-deception, in convinces himself that dying in the name of his god is worth whatever destruction and death he can leave behind.  There is an accumulative-affect of sin and iniquity for a nation.  God observed that iniquity had passed through to the third and fourth generations of the Amorites with no sign of repentance.  The only thing left was the tipping point: For the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure (Gen. 15:15 NIV).   At this, the line had been crossed to the point of no return.  This is true of any nation.  It was true for Judah and Jerusalem.  God said: Do not pray for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them; for I will not hear them in the time when they cry to Me for their trouble (Jer. 11:14).

Beloved, God is still wooing America to repent.  Apparently, we have not reached the point as did the aforementioned cities or people.  David Wilkerson was a prophet to America.  He wrote: The cyclical patterns of God’s justice and judgment past; He sent prophets with warnings and the command for repentance.  Then He would allow for troubles and tribulations for a season. If the people still did not heed the voice of the prophets and message of the Gospel, the last stage before judgment was peace and prosperity.  These were God’s last chance efforts to lead them to repentance in His goodness.  America has arrived at this point.   God does not call a nation to be happy, but holy.  Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people (Pro. 14:23).

Our desire is to stand in the gap and make up the hedge and intercede: to weep between the porch and the altar, saying “Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?”

Today we will replicate the encounter recorded in Exodus 32.  The condensed narrative was that God had delivered His people from Egypt.  As Moses and Joshua ascended Sinai the people of God quickly forgot what God had done and straightaway turned to idolatry, debauchery, and drunkenness.  The heinous display of gross transgression issued a revealing statement: And Moses saw that the people were naked: (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame before their enemies) (v. 25).   Here God was desiring to display His glory through a grateful people liberated from slavery to serve Him in gladness.  Take note that this was in sight of their enemies watching from their places of hidden darkness.  It was at this cite that the event became a deciding factor for the righteous.  Then Moses stood at the gate of the camp, and said, “WHO IS ON THE LORD’S SIDE?  LET THEM COME TO ME.  “And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.” (v. 26)

The soul condition of our nation is beyond human repair.  We are like a patient hemorrhaging on the ER table with doctors of false religions, corrupt government, social engineering, secular education, and blind leading the blind all attempting to understand the underlying cause and its pre-existing condition.  We are at the place where only God alone can change the trajectory of this nation’s destiny.  Our intercession is to have our voices heard on high in five critical masses of spiritual chain reaction:

  • The Call For JUSTICE and JUDGMENT
  • The Call For MERCY and GRACE

The Call is for “Who is on the Lord’s side?”  Let them come to Me and call for justice and mercy and worship in Spirit and in truth!

  1. The Call for JUSTICE and JUDGMENT

Psalm 89:14 KJV

Amos 5:24 NKJV

Psalm 33:5, 12

He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.

1 Peter 4:17 NKJV

For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God;

General Direction: That God loves justice and judgment because it corrects the foundations out of course and resets righteousness reflecting His character and nature; that in the wake of justice and judgment God removes the wicked and opens the windows of blessing.

  • Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, 2 saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor[a]regard man. 3 Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, [b]‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’4 And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, 5 yet because this widow troubles me I will [c]avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ ” 6 Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. 7 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? 8 I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” –Lk. 18:1-8 NKJV
  • 3 Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand. 5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake.—Rev. 8:3-5 NKJV
  • 11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He [a]had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in [b]fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a [c]sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. –Rev. 19:11-16 NKJV
  • 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before [a]God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second [b]death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. –Rev. 20:12-15 NKJV
  • Remember your Creator in the days of your youth,before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say,“I find no pleasure in them”— Now all has been heard;here is the conclusion of the matter:Fear God and keep his commandments,for this is the duty of all mankind.14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. –Eccl. 12:1, 13-14 NIV
  • 30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,”[a]says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. –Heb. 10:30-31 NKJV
  • 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. –Heb. 4:12-13 NKJV
  • 15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, [a]giving thanks to His name. 16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. 17 Obey those who [b]rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. 20 Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 make you [a]complete in every good work to do His will, working in [b]you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. –Heb. 13:15-17, 20-21 NKJV
  • 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. –1 Cor. 3:11-15 NKJV
  • 8 Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, 10 No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; 14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;I will [a]set him on high, because he has known My name. 15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With [b]long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.” –Ps. 91;8-10, 14-16 NKJV
  • 4 No one calls for justice,Nor does any plead for truth.They trust in empty words and speak lies;They conceive [a]evil and bring forth iniquity. –Is. 59:4 NKJV
  • 9 Who is wise?Let him understand these things.Who is prudent?Let him know them.For the ways of the Lord are right;The righteous walk in them,
    But transgressors stumble in them. –Hos. 14:9 NKJV
  • 20 Follow justice and justice alone, so that you may live and possess the land the Lord your God is giving you. –Deut. 16:20 NIV
  • 3 He restores my soul;He leads me in the paths of righteousnessFor His name’s sake. –Ps. 23:3 NKJV
  • 2 When the righteous [a]are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.–Prov. 29:2 NKJV
  • Therefore I [a]exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in [b]authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and [c]reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. –1 Tim. 2:1-4 NKJV
  • 19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. –Jam. 1:19-20 NIV
  • 27 Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed. 28 They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen. 29 Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.30 Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” 31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. –Acts. 4:27-31 NIV
  • 26 “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 nor give [a]place to the devil. –Eph. 4:26-27 NKJV
  • 10 “Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them,For they shall eat the fruit of their doings. –Is. 3:10 NKJV
  • 10 Do not remove the ancient [a]landmark, Nor enter the fields of the fatherless; 11 For their Redeemer is mighty; He will plead their cause against you. 12 Apply your heart to instruction, And your ears to words of knowledge. –Prov. 23:10-12 NKJV

Prayer Points:

  • That the God of justice loves righteousness and judgment because it corrects the earthly foundations that are out of course and resets creation consistent with His character and nature reflecting Him.

  • That justice and judgment would become the habitation of the nations as it is in heaven.
  • That the cry for justice would result in a people who would fear the Lord and depart from evil and do good.
  • That God’s people would heed the call to humble themselves, pray and seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways because judgment begins at the house of the Lord.
  • That the righteous would be promoted and positioned to places of leadership and remove the wicked rule.
  • That the people of God would prevail in prayer like the widow did with the unjust judge, knowing our God is the Righteous Judge, will always do right, and seeks the voices calling for justice and judgment.
  • That in judgment it will go well with the righteous for they have not been appointed to suffer wrath but to salvation in mercy, grace, and the goodness of God.

Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; WITHOUT HOLINESS NO ONE WILL SEE THE LORD.

Ephesians 4:24 NKJV

…and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

General DirectionThat we would perfect holiness in the fear of the Lord by departing evil and hating wickedness, and being led in the paths of righteousness, where the good way is, and find God’s delight in lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness; that we would put off the old man of corruption and put on the new man in Christ renewed in the knowledge and the image of righteousness and holiness; that we would be led by the Spirit of holiness to live godly, holy lives.

Luke 3:8-9 NIV

Produce fruits in keeping with repentance.

…The ax is laid to the root of the tree, and every tree that does not produce good fruit

will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

Luke 13:3 NKJV

…unless you repent you will all likewise perish.

Isaiah 30:15 NIV

This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says:

“In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.”

General Direction: That we would learn the essentialness of repentance and rest and allow God’s goodness and godly sorrow to bring us to repentance so we can by repairers of the breaches and restore the foundations of many generations.

  1. The Call For MERCY and GRACE

Joel 2:12-14 NKJV

“Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart,
With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” So rend your heart, and not your garments;
Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful,
Slow to anger, and of great kindness;
And He relents from doing harm. Who knows if He will turn and relent,
And leave a blessing behind Him—A grain offering and a drink offering
For the Lord your God?

Psalm 85:9-12 NKJV

 Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, That glory may dwell in our land.

Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed.
Truth shall spring out of the earth, And righteousness shall look down from heaven.
Yes, the Lord will give what is good; And our land will yield its increase.

General Direction: That we would comprehend new mercies and grace sufficient in our weaknesses; that we would allow the goodness of God to bring us to repentance and godly sorrow to do its work of returning us; that God is gracious and compassionate and His mercy triumphs over judgment.

  • 14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. –Heb. 4:14-16 NKJV

Both my father’s house and I have sinned. 11 O Lord, I pray, please let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who desire to fear Your name; and let Your servant prosper this day, I pray, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.” For I was the king’s cupbearer.—Neh. 1:3-6, 11 NKJV

that the mountains might quake and flow down at Your presence—

And no one calls on Your name and awakens and bestirs himself to take and keep hold of You;

for You have hidden Your face from us and have delivered us into the [consuming] power of our iniquities.

Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.[a] That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.  14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.15 Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. –2 Pet. 3:9, 11-12, 14-15 NIV

  • 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said,out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” –Jn. 7:38 NKJV
  • 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. 4 I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.  15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify[a] them by Your truth. Your word is truth.  19 And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth. 20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who [a]will believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. –Jn. 17:3-4, 15-17, 19-23 NKJV

  • 17 The Lord is righteous in all His ways,Gracious in all His works.18 The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,To all who call upon Him in truth.19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;He also will hear their cry and save them.20 The Lord preserves all who love Him,But all the wicked He will destroy. –Ps. 145:17-20 NKJV
  • 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. –1 Jn. 1:7, 9 NKJV
  • 11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. –Titus 2:11-14 NIV
