Awakening Champions Day 2 – AWAKENING IDENTITY

Awakening Champions Day 2 – AWAKENING IDENTITY

“AWAKE YOU WHO SLEEP, and ARISE from the dead, and Christ shall give you light.”

Ephesians 5:14

Awakening is defined as:  something that emerges from sleep; an awareness that arrives; an illumination or revelation of something unknown.

The people of God need an awakening as to who they are in Christ. Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Spiritual identity is at the blueprint of our being created of the image of our Creator, as well as, the fundamental revelation of Christ’s ministry as the Son of the Living God.

The most undeveloped area as Christians, as well as, the most attacked area as Christians is the image of God and our identity as God’s children.  The most attacked area of the Christian’s being is the mind.

As we pray, we must in some places, learn to GUARD OUR HEARTS/MINDS from the fiery darts of deception and the misguided results of a renewed mind.  On the other hand, we must develop the ability TO GIVE OUR HEARTS/MINDS to the renewing of the Word of God with the power of the Holy Spirit to sign, seal, and deliver to us what the Father has already blessed us with in heavenly places.  (See Eph. 1:3-4)

  1. IDENTITY THEFT – Guard Your Vision

“Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish.”  Proverbs 29:18 Amplified

  • We were created in the image and likeness of God – Gen. 1:26-28
  • We need revelation knowledge of who Christ is:

Matthew 16:13-18 NKJV  “…flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.  And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people…”   (Eph. 1:17-18 NIV)

The Message Paraphrase:

“God—make you intelligent and discerning knowing him personal, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what he is calling you to do.”  (Eph. 1:17-18)

Pray For:

  • Prophetic understanding of the Father’s everlasting love for you. (Jer. 31:1; 33:3)
  • Spiritual release of God’s love poured out to you. (Rom. 5:5)
  • A vision of the Father delighting in you. (Zeph. 3:17 NIV)
  • Give the Holy Spirit permission to uproot the causes of deception, distortion of images, and misunderstandings of sonship. (Psa. 51:6, 10-12; Psa. 139:23-24; Psa. 19:14)

  1. Guard your Heart/Mind
  • The thief has come to steal, kill, and destroy… (Jn. 10:10)
  • Your adversary, the devil, walks about like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. (1 Pet. 5:8)
  • Guard your heart, for out of it flow the issues of life. (Prov. 5:23)
  • Put on the whole armor of God… (Eph. 6:10-18)
    • Breastplate of righteousness
    • Belt of truth
    • Shoes of peace
    • Helmet of salvation
    • Shield of faith
    • Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God
    • Lance of prayer
  1. GIVE YOUR HEART/MIND to relate to God the Father from the reality as a son/daughter

Jesus said:

  • I came to show you the Father. (Jn. 5:17)
  • If you have seen Me you have seen the Father. (Jn. 14:9)
  • No one comes to the Father except by Me. (Jn. 14:6b)
  • I only speak what I hear the Father saying. (Jn. 5:38)
  • I only do the things that I see My Father do. (Jn. 5:19)
  • I must be about My Father’s business. (Lk. 12:32)
  • After this manner, pray:  Our Father which art in heaven.  (Matt. 6:11)
  • How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God?  (1 Jn. 3:1 NIV)
  1. GIVE YOUR HEART/MIND to learn to take on the identity of a son/daughter of God in your thinking

Holy Spirit we ask of you:

  • Show us we are new creatures in Christ. (2 Cor. 5:17)
  • Show us we are the temple of (you) Holy Spirit. (1 Cor. 6:19)
  • We have you as the Spirit of adoption. (Rom. 8:14-16; Gal. 4:6-7)
  • We are more than conquerors through Christ and if our God be for us who can be against us. (Rom. 8:31-38)

  • We are chosen and beloved of God. (Sg. Of Sol. 2:16; Eph. 1:4)
  • Help us to see ourselves the way the Father sees us. (1 Cor. 13:12; I Jn. 3:2-3)
  • Change us by the image we see in reflection of the Spirit-mirror. (2 Cor. 3:18; Phil. 1:6; Jam. 1:22-25)

  1. GIVE YOUR HEART/MIND to take on our new identity by renewing our minds
  • Be transformed by the renewing of our minds. (Rom. 12:2)
  • Be renewed in the spirit of your mind. (Eph. 4:24)
  • We have the mind of Christ. (Phil. 2:5; 1 Cor. 2:16)
  • We can do all things through Christ. (Phil 4:13)
  • Greater is He who is in me. (1 Jn. 4:11)
