(5 Ways to Bring Informed ADORATION and APPLICATION to Worship)

Romans 12:1-2

(Philips Modern English)

With eyes wide open to the mercies of God, I beg you, my brothers AS AN ACT OF INTELLIGENT WORSHIP,

to give him your bodies, as a living sacrifice, consecrated to him and acceptable by him.

Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its mould, but let God re-make you so that your whole attitude of mind is changed.  Thus you will prove in practice that the will of God is good, acceptable to him and perfect.

Introduction:

The Bible makes clear that worship is the main occupation of heaven and on earth is the dividing line where two kingdoms clash daily.  Of this we can be sure, we were created for worship and we will worship.  The only questions are:  who will receive our worship and how will our worship be expressed?  Worship is described in multiple terms taking on many forms.  Intelligent worship encompasses the broadest sense of all worship is.  Biblical worship conveys a no-holds-barred, leaving no reserves, nothing untouched, absolute wasting of everything in an all-consuming, all-encompassing act of laying one’s life down as a living sacrifice.  But the fall of man in the garden perverted all things including worship.  We learn from Jesus about “true worship”.  It is exclusive in its proprietary expression and only acceptable as it is offered in the essence of understanding from where deep touches deep and knowledge is incontrovertible to the truth.  Many presume a “Wikipedia Worship” that is: worship that anyone, anywhere, anytime can project anything, making any god according to the image of any man.  But we learn from the devil’s trilogy of temptation in the wilderness.  His was an attempt to distort worship.  For it was the ultimate prize to be sought and eventually concludes in the worship of self.  Jesus defined “true worship” Now is the time that those who worship the Father must worship in Spirit and in truth.  You do not know what you are worshiping [you worship what you do not comprehend].  We know what we worship.  We have knowledge and understanding.  From here on, worshiping the Father, will not be a matter of the right place but with the right heart. (Jn. 4:22-24 Amplified/TPT)

Paul the Apostle references an intelligent act of worship. (Rom. 12:1)  He frames it as a response to who God is and what He’s done, in view of God’s mercies.  Scholars differ on how to translate the phrase for worship here.  Some render it reasonable service others your spiritual service of worship.  What is agreed upon is that it is enclosed in a singular “act” which will, by cause and effect, change everything else.  Like the “I do” in wedding vows simultaneously says “I don’t” to every other potential.  Or, like tossing a pebble into a pond where its entry point emanates through the remaining body of water.   This “act” is once-and-for- all.  It carries a dual connotation.  It is inclusive of the warm fuzzy feelings of devotion and love’s intimate expressions.  But it does not exclude the high praise of worshipping from the lowest of hells.  Worship that exceeds suffering, pain, and loss.  It is intelligent-informed worship carried above on two wings: One, ADORATION, the other, APPLICATION.  The Psalmist said, Bring an offering, and come into His courts.  O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness; fear before Him, all the earth. (Ps. 96:8-9 KJV)  And Hebrews 12:28-29 NIV implores: …let us be thankful and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.  For our God is a consuming fire.  The original word for worship means: to give gravity or weigh as heavy, it is derived from worthship or give worth to something priceless, highly valuable,  distinctly honorable. God consumes the worship we bring.  We are the incense.  When our passions sets a fire to our adoration of devotion and/or application of service—who we are and what we do—it makes us either a strange fire or familiar flame.  It is the stench of idolatry or the sweet aroma of a living sacrifice laid down in love.  No matter the price to be paid.  In fact, The worship that costs the most is the worship that counts the most.  The Psalmist David, a man after God’s own heart said: I will surely buy it from you at a price; nor will I offer burn offerings to the LORD with that which costs me nothing (2 Sam. 24:24 NKJV).  The worth of our worship is estimated by the pain and suffering that chooses us while we chose to worship or the worship that is collected in self-imposed sacrifices to intensify our intentions and accumulate our affections.

The Westminster Confession envelopes worship succinctly: The chief aim of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.  Moreover, William Temple, Archbishop of Canterbury defines “True Worship”: Worship is the submission of all our nature to God; it is the quickening of the conscience to His Holiness; the nourishment of the mind with His Truth; the purifying of the imagination with His Beauty; the opening of the heart to His Love; the surrender of the will to His Purpose—all this gathered up in adoration, the most selfless emotion of which our nature is capable and therefore the chief remedy for the self-centeredness which is our original sin and source of all actual sin.  Yes—worship in spirit and truth is the way to the solution of perplexity and to the liberation of sin.

In the Old Testament they built altars of worship, but today we have the cross as our altar wherein we daily lay our lives down as “living sacrifices” as one “act”—with many expressions of worship.  The verdict that death has been pronounced and evidence of the new life offers proof that the sacrifice is living.  Not for him or herself, but for the One who laid down His life in sacrifice.  Our living measures His worth in us.  I beg you to walk (lead a life) worthy of the calling to which you have been called [with behavior that is a credit to the summons of God’s service.] (Eph. 4:1 Amp.)  Walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him. (Col. 1:10)

Today we magnify the LORD in five ways of knowing Him and making Him known in True Worship: HIS WORKS, WORD, WILL, WAYS, and WHOLENESS.  (1 Thes. 5:23-24 – Tree of life Version)  Now may the God of Shalom Himself make you completely holy; may your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept complete, blameless at the coming of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.  Faithful is the One who calls you—and He will make it happen!  Here is where our consecration to exclusive service and total dedication to true worship allows the God of Shalom to complete us, make us whole, and keep us together.  In fact, this is the concept conveyed immediately after Paul’s exhortation of offering our bodies as living sacrifices as an intelligent act of worship.  He concludes the thought: …that you may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Rom. 12:2 NKJV).  The result of intelligent acts of worship is a transformed life that arrives where the seed-sown bears 100-fold fruit—wherein we are purified as God is glorified—we find our treasure where He places His pleasure—the God of Shalom Self-contains us in the Shalom of God!

  1. Knowing God In His WORKS

John 4:34; 5:17; 8:29 NKJV

Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.

My Father has been working until now, and I HAVE BEEN WORKING…

for I ALWAYS DO THOSE THINGS THAT PLEASE HIM.

Matthew 5:16 NKJV

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

General Direction: To be like Christ in all our orientation to life—that we be about our Father’s business, doing nothing without Him but only doing what we see and hear of Him and is pleasing to Him and that our life’s work be to do the will of God and to finish His work; to be His workmanship, full of good works, and workmen who rightly divides the word of God.

Scriptures:

  • 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. –2 Tim. 2:15 NKJV
  • 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. –Eph. 2:10 NKJV
  • 27 Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.” –Jn. 6:27 NKJV
  • 4 I[a]must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. –Jn. 9:4 NKJV
  • 25 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me. –Jn. 10:25 NKJV
  • 15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.16 And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.17 “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. 18 No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”19 Therefore there was a division again among the Jews because of these sayings. 20 And many of them said, “He has a demon and is mad. Why do you listen to Him?”21 Others said, “These are not the words of one who has a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”22 Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter. 23 And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon’s porch. 24 Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, “How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.” –Jn. 10:15-24 NKJV
  • 11 Now may our God and Father Himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you. 12 And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you, –1 Thes. 3:11-12 NKJV
  • where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work which they had completed. –Acts 14:26b NKJV
  • 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them. 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.  23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ –Mt. 7:20, 21, 23 NKJV
  • 18 Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, –1 Tim. 6:18 NKJV
  • 7 in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, 11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. –Titus 2:7, 11-14 NKJV
  • 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, –Heb. 10:24 NKJV
  • 16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. –Heb. 13:16 NKJV
  • 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. –Jam. 2:17 NKJV
  • 12 having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation. –1 Pet. 2:12 NKJV
  • To All 7 Churches: I know your works…To him who hears let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. –Rev. 2-3 NKJV
  • 21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ –Mt. 25:21, 40 NKJV
  • 14 Depart from evil and do good;Seek peace and pursue it. –Ps. 34:14 NKJV
  • Trust in the Lord, and do good;Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. –Ps. 37:3 NKJV
  • 35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. –Lk. 6:35 NKJV
  • The heavens declare the glory of God;And the firmament shows His handiwork. –Ps. 19:1 NKJV
  • 18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness,19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. –Rom 1:18-20 NIV
  • 4 “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?Tell Me, if you have understanding.5 Who determined its measurements?
Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? 33 Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you set their dominion over the earth?  36 Who has put wisdom in the mind?  Or who has given understanding to the heart? 37 Who can number the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the bottles of heaven,–Job. 38:4-5, 33, 36-37 NKJV
  • 4 He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. –Ps. 147:4 NKJV
  • 5 Let them praise the name of the Lord,For He commanded and they were created. 13 Let them praise the name of the Lord,For His name alone is exalted; His glory is above the earth and heaven. –Ps. 148:5, 13 NKJV
  • 28 Have you not known?Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord,The Creator of the ends of the earth,Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable. –Is. 40:28 NKJV
  • 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet[a] no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. –Eccl. 3:11 NIV
  • 7 The works of His hands are verity and justice; All His precepts are sure. –Ps. 111:7 NKJV

Prayer Points:

  • To be like Christ in relating His life and ministry to being about His Father’s business, doing only those things He sees and hears of His Father, doing nothing without His Father and do only those things which please His Father as a total body of work of honor.
  • To know God as a workman in His Word and be able to cut a straight path in rightly dividing the truth for those who follow our example and teaching.
  • To repent of my hands of iniquity or idleness but rich in good works.
  • To recognize that I am God’s workmanship, created in His image and likeness, and fearfully and wonderfully made to fulfill my purpose and seize the opportunity to my times and seasons.
  • To have a keen sense of awareness of working while there is time and to be found full of good works and rich in deeds done for God’s glory and “occupying till Christ returns”.
  • To understand the LORD God by His handiwork and that all of creation reveals His invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature.
  • To comprehend that God placed His garden in me then placed me in His garden to be blessed, fruitful, multiply, replenish, subdue, and have dominion over it.
  • To comprehend that the Ancient of Days, God Eternal placed eternity inside of me then placed me in time for Him to perfect me and make all things beautiful in His time.
  • To put my hands to the plough of the kingdom of heaven and whatever my hand finds to do I will do it with all my might.
  • To let all I do be done for God’s glory and for men to see my good works and glorify My Father in heaven.

  1. Knowing God In His WORD

John 5:39-40 TPT

You are busy analyzing the Scriptures, frantically pouring over them in hopes of gaining eternal life.

Everything you read POINTS TO ME…When you continue to embrace all that I teach,

you prove that you are my true followers.  For if you embrace the truth,

it will release more freedom into your lives.

Hebrews 1:3 NIV

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being,

sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins,

he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

2 Timothy 2:15 NASB

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed,

accurately handling the word of truth.

General Direction: To know Jesus the Word of God and the sustaining power of His word to enlighten, equip, cleanse, and light the way to eternal life, liberty, and the law of love; to study to show ourselves approved to God—rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

Scriptures:

  • 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. –Heb. 4:12-13 NKJV
  • 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.Because you have rejected knowledge,I also will reject you from being priest for Me;Because you have forgotten the law of your God,I also will forget your children. –Hos. 4:6 NKJV
  • 36 So if the Son sets you free from sin, then become a true son and be unquestionably free! 37 Even though you are descendants of Abraham, you desire to kill me because the message I bring has not found a home in your hearts. –Jn. 8:36-37 TPT
  • 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— –Eph. 6:17-18 NKJV
  • 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.  13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. –2 Tim. 3:5, 7, 13-17 NKJV
  • 16 Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you. –1 Tim. 4:16 NKJV
  • 25 of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, –Col. 1:25 NKJV
  • Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth,Before the difficult days come,And the years draw near when you say,“I have no pleasure in them”: 12 And further, my son, be admonished by these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is wearisome to the flesh. 13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all. –Eccl. 12:1, 12-13 NKJV
  • 8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly,To love mercy,And to walk humbly with your God? –Mic. 6:8 NKJV
  • 11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. –Acts 17:11 NKJV
  • 20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things.21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. –2 Pet. 1:22-21 NIV
  • 22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit[a] in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, 23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,[b]24 because “All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man[c] as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away, 25 But the word of the Lord endures forever.” –1 Pet. 1:22-25 NKJV
  • 10 Now may[a] He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, –2 Cor. 9:10 NKJV
  • 89 Forever, O Lord,Your word is settled in heaven. 105 Your word is a lamp to my feetAnd a light to my path. 130 The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.97 Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day. 140 Your word is very pure; Therefore Your servant loves it. 163 I hate and abhor lying,But I love Your law. –Ps. 119:89, 105, 130, 97, 140, 163 NKJV
  • 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. –Mt. 5:18 NKJV
  • 24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” –Mt. 7:24-27 NKJV
  • 29 Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. –Mt. 22:29 NKJV
  • 2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,–1 Pet. 2:2 NKJV
  • 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. –Heb. 5:12-14 NKJV
  • 4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one![a] 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. 6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as front lets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.  19 to cast out all your enemies from before you, as the Lord has spoken. –Deut. 6:4-9, 19 NKJV
  • 7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.10 More to be desired are they than gold,Yea, than much fine gold;Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned,And in keeping them there is great reward. –Ps. 19:7-11 NKJV
  • 23 For the commandment is a lamp,And the law a light;Reproofs of instruction are the way of life, –Prov. 6:23 NKJV
  • 16 Your words were found, and I ate them,And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name,O Lord God of hosts. –Jer. 15:16 NKJV
  • 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; –Eph. 6:17 NKJV
  • 17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. –Jn. 17:17 NKJV
  • 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” –Jn. 14:21 NKJV

Prayer Points:

  • That we understand that God has exalted His word above His name and is faithful to watch over His word to perform it for it is the extension of His holy nature and righteous character.
  • That we comprehend that Jesus is the living word of God that became flesh and dwelt among us—that He is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of God’s being and sustains all things by His powerful word.
  • That we have the mentality of the Bereans who search the Scriptures to rightly divide the word of truth, not like the Pharisees who searched the Scripture, but didn’t recognize the Word of God in Jesus because His word had no place in them—only man’s tradition and knowledge that puffs up.
  • That we learn that the Word of God is final, settled, and binding in the heavens—and heaven and earth will pass away but His Word remains forever.
  • That we know that God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge of God’s revealed word and without a prophetic revelation of who God is—people perish.
  • That we realize that the Word of God is alive and divides asunder soul and spirit, joints, and marrow, and discerns every heart and reveals every intention.
  • That we learn the power of God’s sustain word to enlighten, equip, convert the soul, be a lamp to our feet, and a light to our paths—its corrections are the way of life.
  • That we purify our souls by obeying the truth through the Holy Spirit and be found with clean hands, a pure heart, no hypocrisy, and no idols.

  1. Knowing God In His WILL

John 6:38 NKJV

For I came down from heaven, NOT TO DO MY OWN WILL, BUT THE WILL OF HIM THAT SENT ME.

Romans 12:2 NASB

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,

SO THAT YOU MAY PROVE WHAT THE WILL OF GOD IS, THAT WHICH IS GOOD AND ACCEPTABLE AND PERFECT.

1 John 5:14 NKJV

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, THAT IF WE ASK ANYTHING ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, He hears us.

James 4:15, 17 NKJV

Instead you ought to say, “IF THE LORD WILLS, we shall live and do this or that.”

Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

MATTHEW 6:10 NKJV

Your kingdom come.  Your will be done.  On earth as it is in heaven.

General Direction: To be like Christ in not having my will or doing anything on my own, but to do the will of the Father and to finish His work; that the body of our works be from the body of the living sacrifice laid down in love, doing the will of the Father—rich in deeds in Christ, 30, 60, 100—gold, silver, and precious stone.

Scriptures:

  • 12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a bondservant of Christ, greets you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete[a] in all the will of God. –Col. 4:12 NKJV
  • 11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. –Rom. 6:11 NKJV
  • 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. –Gal. 5:24 NKJV
  • 20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. –Gal. 2:20 NKJV

  • To do the will of God from the heart, not doing good deeds or religious activity to be seen of men seeking their approval and praise.

  1. Knowing God In His WAYS

Psalm 103:7 KJV

HE MADE KNOWN HIS WAYS UNTO MOSES, his acts unto the children of Israel.

Psalm 86:11-13 NIV

Teach me YOUR WAY, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I might fear your name.

Proverbs 29:18 AMP. /NET

Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of] God…without prophetic vision…people perish.

General Direction: To know God, not just by His acts but by His ways; that we learn the ways of God to walk in them as we have a redemptive vision and prophetic revelation of Him that keeps us focused moving in the right direction towards an expected end; to know the way of peace where the eternal paths are—the blessed life—where the good way is and there is hope and a future; my ways are His ways.

Scriptures:

  • 17 But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” 19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.–Jn. 5:17, 19 NKJV

The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.” –Jn. 8:28-29 NKJV
  • 17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of[a] the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; 19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. 20 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. –Eph. 4:17-24 NKJV
  • 7 When a man’s ways please the Lord,He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. –Pro. 16:7 NKJV

The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.” –Jn. 8:28-29 NKJV
  • 17 But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” 19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. –Jn. 5:17, 19 NKJV

  • 9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both[a] which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. 11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, –Eph. 1:9-11 NKJV
  • 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. –Mt. 18:3 NKJV
  • 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba,[b] Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. –Rom. 8:6, 14-16 NIV
  • Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free,[a]and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. 13 For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”  16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. –Gal. 5:1, 13-14, 16 25 NKJV
