The One Thing That Can Change Everything

Colossians 2:6-7 NKJV

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him

AND ESTABLISHED IN THE FAITH, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

Hebrews 11:6 NKJV

But without faith it is impossible to please Him,

FOR HE WHO COMES TO GOD MUST BELIEVE THAT HE IS,

and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Introduction:

Believing is a non-negotiable, altogether essential element of living, moving, and having our being as new creatures in Christ.  God says it’s impossible to please Him without faith and all things are possible for those who believe who He is.  As new creations we live by the faith of the Son of God (Gal. 2:20).  This means, by faith, the life of Christ is actively—presently—living through us as we are onward going in believing, not living in the past.  The original words for “Believe/Faith” conveys the idea of who a person is in whom one believes: reliable, dependable, faithful, trustworthy, steadfast, unwavering, proven as lack nothing.  Other tenses of “Believing” renders it in the continuum:  present-active; set in motion; something constant or consistent; ignites or enables a sustained momentum; activates God’s ability or capacity.

Hebrews 11:6 says those who come to God must believe that He is.  The construction of the language here is similar to when God told Moses “I AM”.  God reveals Himself as “HE IS” meaning He was, and is, and will be and be anything He determines to be in His Sovereign abilities.  No one can change or redefine who “He is” and that “He exists as I AM”.  Believing that “He is” translates in the having faith in His capabilities, capacities, and competency.  God said, He cannot deny Himself. (2 Tim. 2:13)  Believing into who He is expels the impossible by embracing the possibility making all things possible because faithful is He who promised.

By faith the worlds were framed by the Word of God (Heb. 11:3).  Therefore, faith formed all things seen and unseen and exists as the everlasting prerequisite to knowing God and walking with Him.  The trifecta qualities of God’s purposes in earth and eternity are: FAITH, HOPE, and LOVE.  Faith is a fruit of the Spirit, the means of our walking while not seeing, and the construction material used for laying foundations and framing worlds.  Believing is simply taking God at His Word based on His character.  Faith is taking hold of nothing and holding on until it becomes something.

Let us establish some interchangeable terms and operational definitions:

FAITH:  is believing in the ability and integrity of the One who promised.

HOPE:  is the expectation of something desired will be fulfilled.

TRUST:  is confidence in the character of One in whom security is founded.

Each of these are operational dynamic requirements in our oikos’ or spheres of relationship with God and others.   These pass beyond traditions of men, ceremonies, religious rituals and routines or human activity deemed “spiritual”.  These do not exist in empty cathedrals, ivory towers, or dead monasteries.  The Bible says, When the Son of man returns will He FIND FAITH on the earth? (Lk. 18:8).  Note it does and say busyness, activity, or building kingdoms of men.

From cover to cover the Scriptures are replete with examples of those who believed and did the work and will of God, as well as, those who disbelieved, missed a world of opportunity, and an eternity of reward.  Prayer and believing are inseparable realities.

The prayer of faith is the currency exchange between God’s possibilities and man’s effectual fervent intercession of believing the impossible.   Prayer and believing creates spiritual currents that sweep miracles into our existence.  Prayers never return empty, never cease to exist, and have no expiration date.  E.M. Bounds wrote: Prayer is God’s settled and singular condition to move ahead His Son’s Kingdom.  Therefore, the believer who is the most highly skilled in prayer will do the most for God.  Our ministries will never rise above our prayer life and our prayer life will never go beyond our believing.  Faith in prayer is a prized possession.  So valuable that Satan requested of Peter to sift his believing.  But Jesus said, after Peter’s testing, to strengthen his brothers because his faith would become stronger.

Abraham believed God and offered his Isaac on the altar.  He was fully persuaded that what God had promised He was also able to do.  The access of the blessing that Abraham secured by faith is the finished work of Christ on the cross—that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith (Gal. 3:14).  Faith begins the world created for us to live in but it is to continue as we are established in the faith (Col. 2:7).  Here is where faith is needed because obedience is required.  If believing is partaking of the divine nature and apprehending God’s ability, then—LET US BELIEVE!  The only limitations of God are the limitations we place on Him.  Thus today we pray into 5 Realms of BELIEVING:

  • Believing God is Able
  • Believing is Obtaining Promises
  • Believing is Becoming Christlike
  • Believing is Overcoming Obstacles
  • Believing is a Consuming Kingdom

Keep in mind that a master key only works when it is used.  For us All things are possible to those who believe—and that is the one thing that can change everything!

  1. BELIEVING GOD IS ABLE

Mark 9:23 NKJV

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

With man it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.

Romans 4:21 NASB

…being fully assured THAT WHAT GOD HAD PROMISED, HE WAS ALSO ABLE TO PERFORM.

General Direction: To pray and practice believing in God’s name and abilities to perform what He promised; to raise the level of faith in God through prayer and fasting to experience His supernatural ability and see things, impossible to man, but possible with God to those who believe.

Scriptures:

  • 8 Our help is in the name of the Lord,Who made heaven and earth. –Ps. 124:8 NKJV
  • 2 I will worship toward Your holy temple,And praise Your name For Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name. 8 The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever;Do not forsake the works of Your hands. –Ps. 138:2, 8 NKJV
  • 29 So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.” –Mk. 9:29 NKJV
  • 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”19 So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen. –Mk. 16:17-20 NKJV
  • 37 For with God nothing will be impossible.” 38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. –Lk. 1:37-38 NKJV
  • 7 Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But say the word, and my servant will be healed. 8 For I also am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 9 When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned around and said to the crowd that followed Him, “I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!” 10 And those who were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well who had been sick. –Lk. 7:7-10 NKJV
  • 20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. –Mt. 17:20 NKJV
  • 6 Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. 8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. 10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, 11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. –Is. 55:6-11 NKJV
  • 11 The word of the Lord came to me saying, “What do you see, Jeremiah?” And I said, “I see a rod of an almond tree.” 12 Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over My word to perform it.” –Jer. 1:11-12 NASB
  • 11 For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.12 Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.13 You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,’ declares the Lord, –Jer. 29:11-14a NASB
  • Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, 2 saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. 3 Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ 4 And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, 5 yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’” 6 Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. 7 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? 8 I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” –Lk. 18:1-8 NKJV
  • 37 If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me;38 but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.” –Jn. 10:37-38
  • 39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.40 But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. –Jn. 5:39-40 NKJV
  • 12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. 17 Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, 18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, 20 where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. –Heb. 6:12, 17-20 NKJV
  • 11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. –1 Jn. 5:11-15 NKJV
  • 24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” –Mt. 7:24-27 NKJV
  • 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.14 If you ask[a] anything in My name, I will do it. –Jn. 14:13-14 NKJV
  • 10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe. –Pro. 18:10 NKJV
  • 17 ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You. –Jer. 32:17 NKJV

Prayer Points:

  • To cease from having faith in my ability to start to believe in God’s ability to provide.
  • To set our trust in God’s character and nature, our hope in His will and word, and our faith in what He said He would do.
  • To be confident that God will accomplish that which concerns us and fulfill His purpose.
  • To understand that prayer and fasting raises the level of faith to believe God for the impossible.
  • To comprehend that God watches over His Word to perform it and even exalts His Word above His name and it will not return to Him void.
  • To be anchored in hope that God cannot lie and that He always hears the prayers of the righteous and answers.
  • To understand that believing in prayer is as big as God is and the only limitations are the limitations we put on His ability.

  1. BELIEVING IS OBTAINING PROMISES

Hebrews 12:1; 11:33

Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses…

(those)…who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, OBTAINED PROMISES…

2 Corinthians 1:20 NKJV

For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him the Amen, to the glory of God through us.

Hebrews 10:35 NIV

So do not throw away your confidence: it will be richly rewarded.

You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God,

YOU WILL RECEIVE WHAT HE HAS PROMISED.

General Direction: That all God’s promises have been provided for us through Christ; that answers to our prayers exists and that we must learn to stand, persist, and breakthrough into receiving what He promised after we’ve done His will.

Scriptures:

  • Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.–Jam. 1:17 NKJV
  • 14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, –Heb. 3:14 NKJV
  • 10 For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. 12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. –Heb. 6:10, 12 NKJV
  • “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” –Jn. 11:26 NKJV
  • 22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. –1 Jn. 3:22 NKJV
  • 14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.—1 Jn. 5:14-15 NKJV
  • 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. –Heb. 13:8 NKJV
  • 14 And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. –1 Tim. 1:14 NKJV
  • 11 This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him. 12 If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. 13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. –2 Tim. 2:11-13 NKJV
  • 6 Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,7 having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude. –Col. 2:6-7 NASB
  • 22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.— MK. 11:22-24 NKJV
  • 23 So we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer. –Ez. 8:23 NKJV
  • 14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. –2 Chron. 7:14 NKJV
  • 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, says the Lord, –Jer. 29:13-14a NKJV
  • 9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ “If you take away the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness, 14 Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord; And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth,And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the Lord has spoken.” –Is. 58:9, 14 NKJV
  • 3 ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ –Jer. 33:3 NKJV
  • 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” –Rom. 1:16-17 NKJV
18:1-8 NKJV

Prayer Points:

  • That faith will establish all things to those who believe.
  • That the same faith in God we have for salvation contains the same mustard seed faith to believe for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and other promises of God; God does not change who He is, but we may need increased or added patience in our believing.
  • That God is God and there is no shadow of turning in Him; He is not a man that He should lie, He is the same yesterday, and today, and forever; if He allowed the cloud of witnesses to obtain promises then we will do it today by faith!
  • That all of God’s promises are “Yes and Amen” in Christ and we need only to believe into receiving what is already provided.
  • That we have confidence in God’s ability and power to provide what He promised when we ask in prayer and prevail in doing His will.
  • To master the skills of asking and believing that whatever we pray in Jesus’ name we will have those things which we say.

  1. BELIEVING IS BECOMING CHRISTLIKE

Galatians 4:19 NKJV

My little children, for whom I labor in birth again UNTIL CHRIST IS FORMED IN YOU.

James 1:22-25; 2:17 NKJV

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work,

this one will be blessed in what he does. Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

General Direction: To blend our beliefs into behavior and be conformed to Christ in speech, life, love, faith, and purity; to hear God’s Words and put them into practice building the life of Christ and His kingdom in us line upon line block upon block for a holy habitation.

Scriptures:

  • 30 He must increase, but I must decrease. –Jn. 3:30 NKJV
  • 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. –Acts 4:13 NKJV
  • 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. –2 Cor. 5:17 NKJV
  • 20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. –Gal. 2:20 NKJV
  • Foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?  11 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.” –Gal. 3:1, 3, 11 NKJV
  • 12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. –Phil 2:12-13 NKJV
  • 18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. –Jam. 2:18-20, 26 NKJV
  • 6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. –Col. 2:6-8 NKJV
  • Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? –Is. 53:1 NKJV
  • 2 “Enlarge the place of your tent,And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings;Do not spare;Lengthen your cords,And strengthen your stakes.3 For you shall expand to the right and to the left,And your descendants will inherit the nations,And make the desolate cities inhabited. –Is. 54:2-3 NKJV
  • 7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.  12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. –1 Tim. 4:7-8, 12 NIV
  • 13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. –Rom. 15:13 NIV
  • 25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. –Heb. 7:25 NKJV
  • 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. 11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12 So then death is working in us, but life in you. 13 And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak, 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. –2 Cor. 4:7, 11-13, 16-18 NKJV
  • 36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.”These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them. –Jn. 12:36 NKJV
  • 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. –Eph. 4:23-24 NKJV
  • 9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, –Col. 3:9-10 NKJV
  • I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. –Rom. 12:1-2 NKJV

Prayer Points:

  • To blend our beliefs into our behaviors through Holy Spirit in faith.
  • To be rooted and grounded in Christ by faith for maturity.
  • To by faith to put to death old things, the old man and old nature and become new as we put on the new man in Christ.
  • To avoid religious callousness in hearing the Word and not doing or in because we think theologically we are becoming like God.
  • To sit at Jesus’ feet daily so that we may decrease and Christ can increase and be conformed in us.
  • To enlarge our tents, stretch forth our cords, and strengthen the stakes of our habitation to grow into the fullness of the measure of the stature of Christ.
  • To walk out our salvation so God can work in His purpose using us as examples to the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.

  1. BELIEVING IS OVERCOMING OBSTACLES

1 John 5:4-5

For whatever is born of God OVERCOMES THE WORLD.

And this is the victory that HAS OVERCOME THE WORLD—OUR FAITH.

Who is he who overcomes the world, but HE WHO BELIEVES that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Psalm 27:13 NKJV

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living.

General Direction: That we understand the nature and logistics of spiritual warfare and winning; we face adversaries, giants, walls, mountains, rivers, and seas, opposition and persecution, and resistance in our flesh, this world, and the gates of hell but faith overcomes.

Scriptures:

  • 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. –1 Jn. 3:8 NKJV
  • 4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. –1 Jn. 4:4 NKJV
  • 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:
  • “For Your sake we are killed all day long;We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. –Rom. 8:31-39 NKJV
  • 17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper,And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,And their righteousness is from Me,”Says the Lord. –Is. 54:17 NKJV
  • 19 So shall they fear The name of the Lord from the west,And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood,The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. –Is. 59:19 NKJV
  • 10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. –Rev. 12:10-11 NKJV
  • 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. –Acts 10:38 NKJV
  • 18 to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’ –Acts 26:18 NKJV
  • 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— –Eph. 6:10-18 NKJV
  • 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. –1 Tim. 6:12 NKJV
  • 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. —2 Tim. 4:7 NKJV
  • 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. –2 Cor. 10:3-6 NKJV
  • 3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity[a] that is in Christ. 4 For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it! –2 Cor. 11:3-4 NKJV
  • 31 And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” –Lk. 22:31-32 NKJV
  • 19 For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. 20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. 25 Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began 26 but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith—–Rom. 16:19-20, 25-26 NKJV
  • 8 But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.—1 Thes. 5:8 NKJV
  • 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but ratherrejoice because your names are written in heaven.” –Lk. 10:19-20 NKJV
  • 11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. –Rom. 13:11-14 NKJV
  • 19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. –Heb. 10:19-23 NKJV
  • 22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. –Mk. 11:22-24 NKJV
  • 3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. 5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” –Jsh.1:3, 5-9 NKJV
  • 2 May He send you help from the sanctuary,And strengthen you out of Zion; 7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the Lord our God. –Ps. 20:2, 7 NKJV
  • 13 So he said, “Go and see where he is, that I may send and get him.” And it was told him, saying, “Surely he is in Dothan.” 14 Therefore he sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they came by night and surrounded the city. 15 And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” 16 So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 18 So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, and said, “Strike this people, I pray, with blindness.” And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. –2 Kgs 6:13-18 NKJV
  • 27 No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house. –Mk. 3:27 NKJV

  • That we never trust in the chariots and horses of men, but that those who are with us are greater than those against us.

  1. BELIEVING IS A CONSUMING KINGDOM

Psalm 141:2 NIV

May my prayer be set before you like incense:

Hebrews 12:25-29 NIV

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE.”

General Direction: That we understand that our prayers of faith are like an incense before God being consumed for His purposes; that we comprehend that believing in prayer possesses lands, conquers kingdoms, advances on-purpose, drives out enemies, and secures the promises.
