R3 Alliance, The Enemy Hunts the Precious Life, Wednesday, March 7, 2018

Matthew 18:1-3, 5-6, 10, 14 Phillips Translation

“Who is really greatest in the kingdom of Heaven?”

Jesus called a little child to his side and set him on his feet in the middle of them all. “Believe me,” he said, “unless you change your whole outlook and become like little children you will never enter the kingdom of Heaven. It is the man who can be as humble as this little child who is greatest in the kingdom of Heaven.

“Anyone who welcomes one child like this for my sake is welcoming me. But if anyone leads astray one of

these little children who believe in me he would be better off thrown into the depths of the sea with a

 mill-stone hung round his neck!”

“Be careful that you never despise a single one of these little ones—for I tell you that they have angels who

see my Father’s face continually in Heaven.”

You can understand then that it is never the will of your Father in Heaven that a single one of these

little ones should be lost.”

Deliver us from evil is a daily prayer Jesus taught us to pray.  After another school shooting the schemes of Satan are self-evident.  17 students were killed that day, however, 4,000 babies were aborted on the same day without coverage or concern.  Children are the heritage of the LORD, fearfully and wonderfully created in His image with a promised inheritance.  Children are the extension of a future hope with God’s blessing.

The adversary stalks about children like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour.   Not only are the young the most innocent and vulnerable among us, they represent a clear and present danger to the gates of hell.  Jesus revealed the precious life of little children.  He showcased that they are “of the kingdom” and valued as “the greatest”.

The predatory pattern is proof of Satan’s vigilante prowess.  From the murder of Cain to the earth becoming so corrupt and filled with violence that God had to destroy it.  All the while, finding favor in Noah saying, he was a just man and perfect in his generations. (Gen. 6:8-9)  Moreover we observe the slaughter of babies in Moses’ time and again after Jesus’ birth.

God told the serpent I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her Seed; He shall crush your head and you shall strike His heel. (Gen. 3:15)  The adversary knows prophecy and has been after the “Seed” ever since. The Bible says, The God of peace shall soon crush Satan under your feet. (Rom. 16:20)  We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood who will cover God’s throne with anointed, live worship.  Psalm 102:18 This will be written for the generation to come, That a people yet to be created may praise the Lord.

From the doom of the womb of abortion to the entombed mindset of colleges indoctrinations of young people with godless, lawless philosophies we are witnessing the dirty little secret.  If the adversary cannot devour the babies he will seek to corrupt the minds.  2 Corinthians 11:3 I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.  Stalin said, “Give me the children, and I’ll give you the future.”  Hitler wrote, “We must remove innocence from the minds of children in order to bring them to maturity.”

Evil like water always seeks the path of least resistance.  Children are the “soft target” and called “at risk”.  All evil originated with the devil.  The devil was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is not truth in him.  When he lies he speaks his native tongue, for he is a liar and the father of lies (Jn. 8:44 NIV)  D-evil is evil in 3 D; deceiver, devourer, destroyer.  He has come to kill, steal, and destroy.  The Bible calls him the prince of the power the air, who NOW works in the sons of disobedience. (Eph. 2:2)  And …the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. (1 Jn. 5:19 ESV)

God said, “My people are destroyed”, not because of sin or Satan, but because of ignorance.  God’s people are destroyed “for lack of knowledge”.  Scripture reveals…though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh (2 Cor. 10:3), We wrestle not against flesh and blood…. Pastor Tony Evans wrote, Everything that is visible and physical is controlled by something that is invisible and spiritual.  Although our spiritual warfare involves looking to things unseen we must avoid the polar extremes. Some deny the existence of Satan and demons.  Others become so haunted by what the devil is doing, they overlook what God has done.  To be obsessed with angels or demons could lead to deception, but to deny their existence will lead to heresy.   We are juxtaposed between two worlds—two kingdoms in conflict.  The kingdom darkness and the kingdom of light.  We are given keys to bind and loose.  We are called to stand in faith with Christ while standing against the devil’s schemes; to be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.  We are instructed to possess knowledge of the Holy One which is understanding, while not being ignorant of Satan’s devices. (2 Cor. 2:10-11)  We are told by our Commander in Chief Behold, I give you authority/power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy. (Lk. 10:19)  We are given the correct sequence of overcoming as more than conquerors: Submit yourselves to God, THEN, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  (Jam. 4:7 NIV)

Pastor Rusty has taught the keys to victory in our warfare:

Submission is the key to Resisting;

Resisting is the key to Overcoming;

Overcoming is the key to being More than Conquerors;

More than Conquerors are Kings and Priests reigning with Christ.

Today we enter into spiritual warfare to contend for this generation.  We will use Five Touchstones as a template to intercede in submission and resistance of good and evil:

  • The Enemy Hunts the PROMISED
  • The Enemy Hunts the INNOCENCE
  • The Enemy Hunts the PROMINENCE
  • The Enemy Hunts the PROVIDENCE
  • The Enemy Hunts the INHERITANCE

Let’s touch in agreement on Isaiah 57:14 NKJV No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.

  1. The Enemy Hunts the PROMISED

Genesis 18:19

Deuteronomy 1:8-11 NKJV

See, I have set the Promised Land before you; go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—to give to them and their descendants after them.’  The Lord your God has multiplied you, and here you are today, as the stars of heaven in multitude.  May the Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times more numerous than you are, and BLESS YOU AS HE HAS PROMISED YOU!

Romans 4:18, 21

So your seed shall be.  And being fully persuaded that

General Direction:  To SUBMIT ourselves to the will, word, ways, and voice of God to open the heavens of God’s blessing and accept that all of God’s promises are ‘Yes and Amen” for us: we RESIST the enemy who stalks about as a lion to devour the Word of the Lord for us and stand firm in the fight to receive the promised rewards.

  • Give ear, O my people, to my law; Incline your ears to the words of my mouth. 2 I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old, 3 Which we have heard and known, And our fathers have told us. 4 We will not hide them from their children, Telling to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, And His strength and His wonderful works that He has done. 5 For He established a testimony in Jacob, And appointed a law in Israel, Which He commanded our fathers, That they should make them known to their children; 6 That the generation to come might know them, The children who would be born, That they may arise and declare them to their children, 7 That they may set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God, But keep His commandments; 8 And may not be like their fathers, A stubborn and rebellious generation, A generation that did not set its heart aright, And whose spirit was not faithful to God. 42 They did not remember His power:The day when He redeemed them from the enemy, –Ps. 78:1-8, 42 NKJV
  • 18 This will be written for the generation to come,That a people yet to be created may praise the Lord. 28 The children of Your servants will continue,And their descendants will be established before You.” –Ps. 102:18, 28 NKJV
  • 9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. –1 Pet. 2:9-10 NKJV
  • 11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. –Titus 2:11-14 NIV
  • “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” 4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations. 11 For as the earth brings forth its bud, As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations. –Is. 61:1-4, 11 NKJV
  • 26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all[a] the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” –Gen. 1:26-28 NKJV
  • After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”  5 Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” 6 And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness. 7 Then He said to him, “I am the Lord, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to inherit it.” 8 And he said, “Lord God, how shall I know that I will inherit it?” 9 So He said to him, “Bring Me a three-year-old heifer, a three-year-old female goat, a three-year-old ram, a turtledove, and a young pigeon.” 10 Then he brought all these to Him and cut them in two, down the middle, and placed each piece opposite the other; but he did not cut the birds in two. 11 And when the vultures came down on the carcasses, Abram drove them away. –Gen. 15:1, 5-11 NKJV
  • But the mercy of the Lordis from everlasting to everlastingOn those who fear Him,And His righteousness to children’s children,To such as keep His covenant,And to those who remember His commandments to do them. — Psalm 103:17-16 NKJV
  • 20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. –2 Cor. 1:20 NKJV
  • 16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. –Jam. 1:16-17 NKJV
  • 24 He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. –1 Thes. 5:24 NKJV
  • 11 By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child[a] when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. –Heb. 11:11 NKJV

Prayer Points:

  • We SUBMIT ourselves to the God of Promises, to keep His commandments, and obey His voice.
  • We SUBMIT to being chosen and accepted in the Beloved and all Your Promises for us are “Yes and Amen”.
  • We SUBMIT to keeping your ways, your will, and your word and to go and possess the Promised Land.
  • We SUBMIT to God’s covenant with us through the Blood of Jesus and believe Your blessing is on our household and our children’s children because we are fully persuaded that what You have promised, You are also able to perform.
  • We RESIST the enemy that is trying to steal, kill, and destroy God’s promises to us.
  • We RESIST the seeds of doubt and unbelief and put our hope and trust in God’s faithfulness.
  • We RESIST the lies of the father of lies that attempt to commit identity-theft of who we are and devour the promises of God by trying to detour us from trusting and obeying the Father of lights from which every good and perfect gift comes with nor shadow of turning.

  1. The Enemy Hunts the INNOCENCE

Proverbs 6:26 b KJV

…the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.

Proverbs 24:11-12 NIV

Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, ‘But we know nothing about this.’ Does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?  Does not he who guards your life know it?  Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?

1 Peter 5:8 Amp.

Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil,

prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour.

General Direction: To SUBMIT ourselves to walking in the light as He is in the light having clean hands and a pure heart with no idols or alters to other things; we RESIST the devil because he has no place in us, we give him no footholds or strongholds in us, our family, church, or community; to protect the most innocent with authority and power in Jesus’ name with justice and judgment.

  • 13 Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time.14 Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region. –Lk. 4:13-14 NKJV
  • 10 Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. –Job. 1:10 NKJV
  • 26 For then you will have your delight in the Almighty,And lift up your face to God.27 You will make your prayer to Him,He will hear you,
And you will pay your vows. 28 You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways. 29 When they cast you down, and you say, ‘Exaltation will come!’ Then He will save the humble person. 30 He will even deliver one who is not innocent; Yes, he will be delivered by the purity of your hands.” –Job. 22:26-30 NKJV
  • 3 Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?Or who may stand in His holy place?4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol,Nor sworn deceitfully.5 He shall receive blessing from the Lord,And righteousness from the God of his salvation. –Ps. 24:3-5 NKJV
  • 24 But let justice run down like water,And righteousness like a mighty stream. –Amos 5:24 NKJV

  • 11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward. 12 Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. 13 Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. –Ps. 19:11-14 NKJV
  • 6 I wash my hands in innocence, and go about your altar, Lord, –Ps. 26:6 NIV

  • 3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. –1 Jn. 2:3-6 NKJV

  1. The Enemy Hunts the PROMINENCE

Psalm 8:2 NKJV

Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants
You have ordained strength,
Because of Your enemies,
That You may silence the enemy and the avenger.

Matthew 21:16 NKJV

And Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read,

‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants
You have perfected praise’?”

Psalm 91:14 NKJV

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.

Colossians 1:13, 15, 16, 18 b NKJV

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers.

General Direction: To SUBMIT to God by enthroning Him on our praise and worship in spirit and truth as our intelligent acts of service; build altars of devotion giving Christ preeminence in all things; by taking Christ’s yoke upon us and learning of Him; To RESIST the enemy through our authority as kings and priests and seek justice and protection of the innocent.

  • Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; You are the praise of Israel. –Psalm 22:3 NIV
  • 11 Your pomp is brought down to Sheol,And the sound of your stringed instruments; The maggot is spread under you,And worms cover you.’
  • 12 “How you are fallen from heaven,O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground,You who weakened the nations!13 For you have said in your heart:‘I will ascend into heaven,I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north;14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,I will be like the Most High.’15 Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol,To the lowest depths of the Pit. –Is. 14:11-15 NKJV
  • 14 “You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. 15 You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you. 16 “By the abundance of your trading
You became filled with violence within, And you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing Out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the fiery stones. 17 “Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor; I cast you to the ground, I laid you before kings, That they might gaze at you. 19 All who knew you among the peoples are astonished at you; You have become a horror, And shall be no more forever.”’” –Ezk. 28:14-17, 19 NKJV
  • 12 But you, Lord, sit enthroned forever;your renown endures through all generations.— Ps. 103:12 NIV
  • 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:
  • “For Your sake we are killed all day long;We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. –Rom. 8:31-39 NKJV
  • 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. –1 Jn. 3:8 NKJV
  • 4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. –1 Jn. 4:4 NKJV
  • 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” –Mt. 11:28-30 NKJV
  • 8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. –Eph. 5:8-11, 15-17 NKJV
  • 12 Those from among you Shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach,The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In. –Is. 58:12 NKJV
  • 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He mae us accepted in the Beloved. –Eph. 1:3-6 NKJV
  • 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the hedavenly places in Christ Jesus, –Eph. 2:6 NKJV
  • 6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him,7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ. –Col. 2:6-8 NIV

Prayer Points:

  • Submission to enthroning God on our praise through intelligent acts of worship and service as living sacrifices.
  • Submission to God by building altars of devotion and smashing altars of idols that provoke God’s jealousy.
  • Submission to God by giving Christ preeminence in all things; worldview, philosophies, ideologies, traditions, thrones, and kingdoms.
  • Submission to God by becoming channels to facilitate justice in education, entertainment, culture, and community.
  • Submission to Christ by taking His yoke and learning of Him, exposing darkness, and pleasing God by making the most of every opportunity, redeeming the time, and understanding His will to do it.
  • Resisting the devil by dethroning his influence on us in the flesh, this world, or self-idolatry.
  • Resisting the devil by recognizing the Greater One lives inside of us and we are more than conquerors.
  • Resisting the devil by establishing a hedge of protection around children and raising up the foundations of our generations through righteousness and holiness.
  • Resisting the devil by standing in God’s holiness, faithfulness, and lovingkindness.
  • Resisting the devil as God’s appointed servant in schools, courtrooms, community, and the prayer room.

  1. The Enemy Hunts The PROVIDENCE

Psalm 127:3-5 NKJV

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed,
But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

Exodus 20:5-6 NKJV

5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

General Direction: To cover the children with prayers of God’s defense and counter-offensive warfare on the welfare and protection against the enemies schemes, devices, deception, devouring, and destroying; to establish a hedge of protection and an open heaven of provision.

  1. The Enemy Hunts the INHERITANCE

Ephesians 1:3-5, 13-14 NKJV

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will…

…In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, WHO IS THE GUARANTEE OF OUR INHERITANCE until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

Psalm 127:3 Amp.

Behold, children are a heritage and gift from the Lord,
The fruit of the womb a reward.

General Direction: To contend for the promises and inheritance given to those who God as chosen and accepted; to stand on the ground of victory and surrender to the Lordship of Christ and drive the enemy away from this generation.

  • 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. –Eph. 2:10 NKJV
  • 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. –Heb. 11:6 NKJV
  • 19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. –Mt. 6:19-21 NKJV
  • 4 “Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. –Deut. 28:4 NKJV
  • 6 and has made us kings[a] and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. –Rev. 1:6 NKJV
  • 9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; –1 Pet. 2:9 NKJV
  • 8 For the redemption of their souls is costly,And it shall cease forever—9 That he should continue to live eternally,And not see the Pit. –Ps. 49:8-9 NKJV
  • 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— –Eph. 6:10-18 NKJV
  • 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. –2 Cor. 10:3-6 NKJV
  • 3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it! –2 Cor. 11:3-4 NKJV
  • 10 Now whom you forgive anything, I also forgive. For if indeed I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven that one for your sakes in the presence of Christ, 11 lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices. –2 Cor. 2:10-11 NKJV
–1 Jn. 4:4 NKJV
  • 14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. –Col. 2:14-15 NIV

  • To RESIST the devil on the grounds of Christ’s triumphant over him at the cross and made a public spectacle of him.
  • To RESIST the enemy by not claiming righteousness based in our performance but on Christ’s finished work.
  • To RESIST the enemy because the Greater One lives in us and He came to destroy the devils works.
  • To RESIST laying up treasure on earth but to labor in love to lay up treasure in heaven where the devil cannot steal, kill, or destroy.
  • To RESIST the father of lies, lust, and murder by accepting, by faith, we are a chosen generation, royal priesthood, holy nation, a special people belonging to God the Father, accepted in the Beloved, whose future inheritance is secured because of who He is.
